Taking care of your Gaggia Classic is a breeze and by maintaining the machine you should enjoy many years of exceptional coffee. It is important that you descale your machine to maintain optimal performance and it is recommended that you do this every 3 – 6 months dependant on usage. Regular descaling helps prevent significant scale build-up, reducing the likelihood of clogs and ensuring optimal performance. Even if your water is of normal hardness, not descaling can lead to lose scale particles that may block the three-way solenoid valve. In terms of cleaning that body of the machine is made from Stainless Steel and this can easily be wiped down. Other removable components such as the drip tray and water tank are dishwasher safe.
